M5 Closures - October 2023
Please read the following information from National Highways if you are visiting or staying at our hotel between Monday 2nd October and Sunday 8th October 2023.
The Gables Hotel is located half a mile away from Junction 14 of the M5
National Highways operates, maintains and improves England’s motorways and major A-roads. This information is to let you know they will shortly be carrying out essential works on the M5 between junctions 14 to 17 and at junction 19.
The works are currently programmed as follows:
Monday 2 October to Wednesday 4 October
M5 junction 14 (The Gables' junction) to 17 fully closed in both directions overnight between the hours of 9pm and 6am the following morning. This is to allow National Highways to switch the traffic management in preparation for the first contraflow phase.
Wednesday 4 October to Saturday 7 October
M5 junction 14 (The Gables' junction) to 17 fully closed in both directions overnight between the hours of 10pm and 6am the following morning. This is to allow National Highways to switch the traffic management in preparation for the first contraflow phase
Sunday 8 October
M5 junction 14 to 17 closed southbound only overnight between the hours of 10pm and 6am the following morning. This is so National Highways can complete the installation of the new contraflow phase.
To minimise disruption, we’ll be working overnight when there are fewer vehicles on the road. During the day National Highways will keep the road open as usual. They will make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community is kept to a minimum, but apologise in advance for any disturbance these works may cause.
There will be fully signed diversion routes in place during the full overnight closures of the M5 between J14-17 and the M5 J19 slip road, but please allow extra time for your journey.
Please monitor www.trafficengland.com to keep updated.
